I had to show this video I just saw of how they made the HBO commercial from the 80's. It's outstanding and sort of sad to see how fast and how much we progressed with technology in the special effects/design world.

I used to be obsessed with this commercial because it used to remind of Star Wars when I was a kid. It's super interesting to see how they did this back in the day and crazy to imagine what comes next.

Things like this are never done anymore. Who would ever put the tedious amount of hours in to do something this grand? It took them 3 months where it could take an agency around 2 weeks to do. It's nuts.
You have to appreciate these people and their lost craft along with all the sign painters, mural artists, stop motion animators, etc..
It's an almost extinct craft.

Yes, I'm finally selling off some art in my STORE that was really hard to let go. A lot of these drawings were used for certain layouts, shirts or skatedecks. Have a gander at them but also keep in mind that if you want one then act quick because these are one of a kind original drawings.

All of them are hand signed and framed with glass and wood.
It's really cool to see all the detail and actual line work involved in some of these and also to think about the purpose on some of them.

I received my Submit & Remix shirts yesterday and I have to say they are some of the coolest shirts I've ever been a part of. Please check out the website and look how Keaton Henson and I were head to head to create this first line.

The tags are what did it for me. I love when clothing companies go the extra mile to do things like this. They didn't cheap out or cut corners on anything. I true quality product.

Also, for as much ink that you see on the shirt you can barely even feel it and this is before it's first wash!

All in all it's an incredible piece of clothing and a raised bar for clothing companies.
I can't wait to see what mash up of artists they have next!

Dazed & Confused for the whole year!

My good friend Yardley aka SkullWithHair is in the beggining of a remarkable experiment. He made a resolution of watching the movie Dazed & Confused once a day for the whole year! Here's what he has to say about it on his daily blog:

"The purpose of this blog is to document my attempt to watch one of my favorite films ever, once each day, for an entire year. No one thinks I can do it (including myself), but I am determined to make this shit happen. This film is extra special to me because it was so close to my adolescent experience in the early 90s. Mitch and his sister have the same age difference as my sister and I. Borderline torture from my sisters senior friends transforming into friendship is what I went through at this exact point in my life. I have identified with this film ever since the first time I saw it and this year I hope to push that connection to maniac status. Wish me luck."

Pretty insane/awesome, right!?
I feel sort of bad because I said he would only make it for two weeks and he's already 19 days in to it. Nuts.

Imperial Wolf Leather

My good buddy Seth has his own leather company called Imperial Wolf Leather and he is one of the most talented guys that I know in this craft.

My girlfriend had her birthday last weekend and what better present to give her than something hand made that will last her the rest of her life? I decided to collaborate with Seth and draw up what I wanted on the wallet and he worked his magic on it. Just incase she breaks up with me she will now be ridden with guilt everytime this beauty stares in the face. Yeah, what now!? What!

I drew up the sketch of what I wanted on the leather to the exact size and sent it over.

After that, Seth took a pic on his phone just so I could get an approval on his line work that he did in the leather. It already started looking awesome to me.

Then the final was delivered to my house and I couldn't of been any happier.
Take a look for yourself.

I'm always paranoid of spelling my girls name wrong so I had to check it over 4 times.

Here is some of his work.
He does practically anything you can imagine. Hell, he even made a leather zipper mask the other day. Not that you would want that when you're all alone in your room and the leather smell creeps up your nostrils that activates a tingling sensation in your...

...well you get my point.

Ok, everyone I'm not assuming that you actually care but here is my top ten list of the year. I have to admit that it was one of my favorite years yet. A lot of fun and successful things came out of it and a ton of learning.

In particular order, here we go:

I got to do a KISS hoodie that was approved sir Gene Simmons. Do I need to explain anything else about it? NO.

The Fest 8 was really fun and I stage dove way too much for my age. 7 Seconds, Strike Anywhere, Cloak/Dagger and Bad Friends killed it. It was also a special treat for the Black Axe to be a part of the art work this year again. Definitely one of my favs.

The Fest

HORSEBITES had an excellent year mainly because the Axe was formed. I had a few art shows and also went to Cleveland for the Go Media Weapons of Mass Creation get together. That was a hoot. I only had a few things to sell in the store but '10 is gonna be sledgehammer of awesomeness for my web store thanx to Merchline. Boo yah!

The Axe got to do some awesome snowboards for K2. That was a mega treat because it was right in the beginning of the year and it kicked it off in the right direction. I can't show any of the decks until they are up sale. Sorry folks.

I joined one of my favorite bands None More Black. Hanging out with those guys is a rollercoaster ride. They love to eat, they're constantly laughing and they're unbelievably talented. We're in the process of writing a new record and playing shows here and there.

Crispy Tees is the birthchild of The Black Axe. A great outlet for our own take on novelty shirts and subjects that desperately need to be touched on. Touch it.

No Friends which is another band that I'm in put out our LP on No Idea records. I don't feel lame for listening to this band over and over again and blasting the shit out of it even though I'm in it. It's like a giant pair of balls swinging from a crane pulverising your ear drums. Seriously love playing in this band and trying out new art styles.

Ew! Gross Out was also another thing started by the brainiacs in the Axe. Just go to the site if you haven't already, you'll see.

GROSS OUT!

After my old band New Mexican Disaster Squad broke up Gatorface rose from the ashes. I can't explain how comfortable I am being in this band because it involves some of my best friends. We recorded a full length titled Wasted Monuments and it should be coming out early next year on No Idea Records. Get faced!

GATORFACE

I will have to say that this is my favorite thing that's happened all year. Completely changed my life and hopefully my future. The Black Axe. Joey, Kevin, Derek, Yardley and I decided to start this design firm because honestly, why not!? It's been nothing but fun and growing in ways we never expected. Ok, so some ways we expected. It's also taught me so much to work with other people and the same time lifted a lot of stress of our shoulders from doing stuff on our own. I can only imagine what is in store for next year.

I recently did a shirt design for Astoria without ever realizing how amazing these people are. I posted another blog a little while ago of the pics they sent me wearing the shirts I did for them and for other bands too.

Well I just got a thank you package from them and was blown away!

First off they sent me the shirt which is such a nice thing to do (clients take note). Second they sent me extra goodies. All they would of had to do is send me a burrito and my life would of been complete.

Then I opened a red envelope that was so neatly folded and had a "Tenugui" which is a traditional towel in Japan. This is getting hung up on my wall.

The rest of the package was insane!!
Their latest CD "The Cries of a Canary" which the art was done by the mighty Mitch O'Connell. Great choice of artist to use for an album cover. Amazing colors.

They also sent stickers, photos of themselves wearing my designs from other bands as well as the one I did for them.
The kicker was the thank you card. I mean come on, how sweet is that?!?

Sea my legs?

The art show Sea Legs was on Saturday and it was a success. I met a ton of great people and hung out with some old friends like Hydro 74 also.

They did live wheat pasting along with free beers and a DJ. Hell yes!

All the artists were amazing!
This one really stuck out to me.

I also talked to some really interesting Disney cast members that were super sweet and we gabbed about the design industry and I talked about Peru with one of the guys and he gave me a food challenge to eat Peruvian food because he swears it's the best. Ok, its on. I'll take any food challenge as long as I leave with a full belly afterwards!

After that I hung out with Kevin from The Black Axe for a bit for his birthday. He had a damn lion on his shoulder. Who does that!?
He's my new hero.

The youth are getting restless

A few days I was lucky enough to do a teach-in again at a local public school. I did one at the same school last year and it was a blast!

It was super surreal to sit in a middle school classroom again. Brought back a lot of good memories of not caring that much about most things but at the same time growing awkwardly and adults making you nervous about grades and going in to highschool.

Talking to them is so cool because they actually seem interested and have a fascination about doing something like I do for a living because it's so fun and I get paid for it.

Towards the end of class the kids wanted me to draw something and I politely refused. Then the teacher egged me on and said Oh come on just do it! So I asked the kids if they wanted me to draw the teacher. They jumped up in the air and demanded I do so.

Well, there you go. That's what you get for asking me to do that.

After every class period all the kids asked for my autograph and it was nuts! I've never had to sign my name that fast. The highlight of signing all of those signatures was this kid made me sign his paper chinese star!

Also another kid gave me a pic he drew during class.

Yesterday I recieved all the thank you cards from the class and I have to say that this is the real treat.

Most of the kids drew little drawings along with their thank yous.

For all of my Orlando brothers and sisters I will be a part of a really good art show on Sat November 21st at Say It Loud in Orlando, FL. That's this Saturday folks! Yes, I know it's almost the end of the year already. How do I not have a grey beard!? Oh because I can barely grow facial hair besides a creepy mustache.

I'm excited to be a part of something like this with other great artists such as Hydro 74, David Hoskins, Brandon Dunlap, etc.

So if you live in the area please come check it out. It will be a blast!

I can't get enough of DEVO lately. I loved their hit song "Whip It" ever since I first heard it as a kid naturally. I mean come on, which kid growing up in the 80's didn't think it was awesome to watch these weirdos playing this song in their yellow biohazard suits and their iconic red energy domes that they wore on their heads. It was actually the band D.I. that introduced me to the rest of DEVO, the real DEVO in my opinion. It wasn't extremely different but it was different enough from their hit to make me realize they were a really special band that didn't just live off of their one hit wonder. The song that was covered by D.I. was called "Uncontrollable Urge" when I was 16 years old.

Totally made me think twice about this band. Also was bummed I didn't get in to them earlier. Other songs that made me freak out were "Gates Of Steel" and "Through Being Cool". Soooooo good!

Now my favorite drummer Josh Freese is playing for them so I have to go see them. Any way possible. Woooo!

Kill 'em all, let the Fest sort them out.

The Fest in Gainesville was extra fun this weekend. It was so nice to hang with all my friends from around the world that I only get to see once a year. I watched some kick ass bands and didn't have to stress about anything.
Excuse the quality of the pics, dark clubs and drunk hands don't make for such good pics. Nah mean!?

Before the Fest I had to sign the super limited edition posters that the Black Axe designed. Order one through Pedal Printing NOW!!!

How rad was it to see this right when I walked in to registration!? Doing it big this year!

That set was a blasty!

Strike Anywhere naturally blew my pants off when they played. I thought I chipped my tooth cause some dude landed on me but my chicklets all good.

Hotel was super spacious and comfortable.

Derek Deal slept under the bed. That's how he rolls. No questions.

Flatliners did it up in proper fashion by dressing up as priests and Chris (singer) was an alter boy with issues. Classic.

After a raging set Paul from Flatliners hung out and we got tipsy. It was funny cause I kept making the dumb joke of him wearing a shirt with my face on it. I'm dumb.

I was really in to Floyd's costume. He was wearing a hairy arm pitted bondage girl as a purse? Still was awesome.

Gator Dawgs provided some good eats. Not great, but good.

Longest set I've probably ever played and it was only 30 min long. HA!
No Friends set was especially fun for me to play because people lost their damn minds! RULED!!!

FUEL TV did a little segment on me for their Dew Underground Orlando artists. At first I didn't realize it was going to be this much of a production when they first emailed me to ask if it was ok to have a few pics of my art to show off. I had no clue I was gonna be video interviewed and have the camera guy come to my house and take pics of all my stuff! I can't stand the way I sound on camera and how I'm constantly figeting. Also notice the identical similarities between my side profile and the Fest Caveman when I'm working. UGH!

Well, I hope you enjoy my Kermit the Frog voice.

The guy who actually came over and did everything was named Drew and he couldn't of been nicer and easier to deal with. He made me feel comfortable and let me just go off on tangents. Good times all around.

Drew was here for over a week checking out other Orlando hot spots and bands. Virgins (favorite local band) also got featured in it. CHECK IT OUT HERE!!!

This is footage of a real life zombie that was discovered in Conway, Arkansas. Through visual study it was found that zombies actually like to do kegel exercises once they have positioned themselves to a somewhat sitting position. Some believe that these are ancient Indian spirits entering the soul-less body and taking a breather. Also through extended visual surveilance zombies are known to walk with their head back which believed that actually prevents their brains from falling out of their mouth or because they smelled something foul like a fart or a baby (babies stink) before forming in to the walking dead. Personally in my own scientific opinion I feel like since he's dead there is a ghost pulling on his pony tail. The footage shows that hand eye coordination is completely lost and doing simple tasks such as grabbing a basic door handle can take an eternity and risk looking like a complete dumbass while swinging your arm in a retarded life less manner eventually finding it while your knees constantly flail and buckle like a baby who just drank a quart of vodka. Last but not least, a surprising behavior was noted that zombies don't actually crave blood, they can sometimes crave beer or snacks and they can easily be escorted off the premises by simply guiding them by their shoulders. If this instance does occur though be sure to guide them all the way out or ghosts will yank their pony tail back in to your compound. Be very careful though, you could be next.

Well actually, only one of the shows was with all three bands and it was nuts. It was at Best Friends Day in Richmond, VA. I also ended up playing a cover with Strike Anywhere also. I thought I was gonna die but how awesome would that be!? Play in 3.5 bands then croak right afterwards!

My buddy Jared from Vero just sent me a sweet package in the mail that had his two shirt designs that his new clothing company produced called Ethic Clothing Co.. I love getting stuff in the mail!

I actually met Jared through his dad Tony a while back cause his dad would always go to shows in the Tampa and Orlando area. I always thought that was so cool. We eventually befriended eachother and noticed he started bringing his son more often as he got older. It's a rare thing for a dad to be that in touch and not be embarrasing at the same time.

Now his son is a young entrepreneur and has a ton more things to offer with his new company. I really wish I started that young. I would be like Biff in Back To The Future II when he's super rich after cheating his way through life with that damn almanac from the future!

I'm gonna try my absolute hardest to update this blog with work stuff every other day at the least, hopefully every day.

A couple of the gear grinders lately have been No Friends and The Black Axe. That stuff is keeping me busy and ready to rule the land with all the new stuff that's been happening in that world. The Axe has something new up our sleeve that will be revealed soon and I couldn't be happier with how it's turning out.

Also with No Friends we're getting ready to release our new record on No Idea. Super happy with how that's turning out cause the pre-order comes with a shirt and slip mat! Love that kind of stuff. CLICK HERE to check it out.

I was really happy with how this album cover turned out. I never get the opportunity to work on something completely different from my style and it's a good challenge. I know it looks super simple and easy to execute but it took me forever because I'm a border line retard when it comes to Photoshop.

Ok, so for a fresh start I recently finished this new piece for a photographer named Robert Volkerts. He dug it and hopefully it will be printed this big. Pretty rad shirt for a photographer if you ask me.

My friends Matt (Baloo) and Kim from Montreal just visited for a few days and we had a blast. I first met Baloo in Europe from touring and playing a show with his old band Fifth Hour Hero from Quebec. We instantly got along with the whole band. There was something magical about them that made us feel really comfortable. We hung out after that show and have always kept in contact ever since. All of the New Mexican Disaster Squad dudes came out of our holes to hang with him. It was a good feeling.

Baloo got to do all of the touristy stuff that he wanted to do and we also did some good old hang out sessions at Alexs moms pool. Summer fun with pizza and brownies!

My recent trip to Philly was as usual, great. Ate my face off and went to this really cool museum of human oddities and abnormalities. Mutter Museum had gross giant tumors coming out of peoples butts and stuff like that. Also saw a lady with a horn coming out of her forehead, why is that a bad thing!? Anyways, I wasn't allowed to take pics in the museum so you won't be seeing any of that. Oh well, now settle for the rest of the awesomenessity. Prepare yourself, it will make you hungry. I just got back from Philly and it was a blast. It has definitely been my busiest past couple months and it was a vacation well needed even though it was shorter than I was hoping for. I have a ton of pics that I'm just gonna show with minimal explanations. Fair warning, you will get hungry.

Perry has some serious dedication to Pee Wee's Playhouse. Not only is it awesome to have this as a tattoo but it's also done really well.

Perry is also the singer of Lighten Up and an up and coming illustrator/designer. His hair is nuts right now too, looks like a Lego hair helmet. He rules.

My legs felt like rubber from riding almost 25 miles on the bike earlier and I tried walking down their carpeted stairs and slipped. All you could hear was thud thud thud thud thud OH MY GOD! when I landed. My shorts were also jacked all the way my thighs. Let's just say the rest of the guys peed and puked from laughing so hard. I'm a tard.

World's worst street fight

My buddy CPM from None More Black sent me this video a couple of days ago and I've been studying it for a future street confrontation.

Here are a few things that I've noticed/examined while watching this informative video.

- always wear proper up to date clothing while battling in the streets to not be embarrassed incase of a loss.

- 0:09 wave hands erractically in hopes of confusing my opponent right before my vicious roundhouse appears out of nowhere.

- 0:10 lift leg a little higher when unleashing the swiveling kick of doom

- 0:17 don't put my finger up trying to pause the confrontation so I can search for some dumb shit that fell out of my pocket. You could possibly get booted in the ear.

- 0:34 always use the "super punch" as an option to destroying your attackers chest in to an oblivion. Beware though, sometimes the dual fisted punch may not reach and leave you vulnerable.

- 0:42 Buddy wearing denim jacket should never butt in and be escorted violenty by one of the camera men from the movie Wayne's World.

- and last but not least just walk away bro, walk away and pretend nothing ever happened.

A couple nights ago I was chilling on the porch with my roomates and my annoying neighbor drove by on his motorcycle and I regrettably gave him the "what's up head nod with a slight hand wave". I immediately hated myself for it and after my roommate yelled at me for doing so I fled to the carport and pretended to be working on stuff by banging my keys on random metal objects.

As I was bullshitting my way around I noticed a black spider sitting on the ledge. It happened to crawl up on it's web and I could see under it's abdomen and I noticed it had a red hourglass mark, it was a fucking black widow! I never see these out and about. It was protecting 3 pods full of eggs. So gnarly looking. I told the rest of my roommates to check it out and they freaked out too so we brought out the big guns. Wasp spray and roach spray dual combo. After Ben hosed down the eight legged killer it was still moving as to say "fuck you, I'm a black widow and will plant babies in your eyes after I'm done feasting on your corpse".

After that I grabbed a lighter and torched it. It still moved a few times after that but eventually it died.

I hope it's cousins don't crawl through the toilet and electrical outlets while I'm sleeping and take over the house.

Also, my neighbor came over after that because of all the commotion. If only I could just train spiders to attack unwanted guests.

I live in fear now.

The other day I was introduced to this awesome restaurant in Orlando called El Coqui. A Puerto Rican and Mexican couple owned the place and mixed their styles together. The food was out of this world and might of been the best spanish food I've had in Orlando. Yup, you heard right.

Sopes were really good and super cheap.

I would have to say the prize was the mofongo with fish and yuca. Soooooo good!

Ok, best part about all this was the fact that it's bring your own beer!!!!
Why isn't every restaurant like that!?

I do have a complaint though, the place is mega tiny and only has 4 tables inside so the wait can be a bitch or I've been there twice already where people have reserved the whole restaurant for a party and it drives me nuts. Sort of like how cowboy butts drive me nuts.

My friend Lindsey graduated the other day and I made her a gift. I've been wanting to try out a new style for drawing since I haven't had the chance to do any fine art lately. I was really happy how the technique of drawing with pen then shading with pencil came out. I really want to expand on this and I think I'm going to do one once a week and sell them in my web store for a reasonable price. Good idea?

I was totally dreaming about some airplane that was ready to crash and all I could hear was the engine sounding like it was dying and making a horrible noise. Super weird, turns out that noise I was hearing was the douchebag outside my house. Their tire was rubbing up against the wheel well of their car because they just slammed into my parked car. My neighbors came out only to see the perp taking off. So now I'm stuck with a busted ass car.

Anyone that's known me for a while knows that I have thee worst luck with cars ever. No joke, almost every car I've ever owned has been totaled and it's never my fault. Sux.

Good thing I have my motorcycle, I'm gonna dress up like Mad Max and patrol the land.

The other day I went to the fair with some of my friends. I had a blast.

There's nothing like checking out the carnies. Such an amazing breed of people. I was really hoping to run into Joe Dirt while I was there, but no luck.

So my good buddy Brandon Dunlap from Tampa just released this new silkscreened print for the band Red Fang. It looks really sweet. An edition of 35 were made and they measure 12x17 inches, 2 colors on good arches 88 paper. He's only selling them for $20 HERE.

After riding my moped around for a few months I got a little greedy with going faster so I picked up this beast the other day.

It's a 1971 Honda CB350. I've never ridden a motorcycle before so my buddy Ben (a.k.a. Short shorts) told me how to do it.

He hasn't ridden in a while so we both picked it up in about 20 min or so. Not too bad.
I was really intimidated to ride it cause motorcycles sort of freak me out but I over came that fear and felt comfortable really quick. It's a pretty small engine for a motorcycle and barely goes over 100mph.

Now I know what you're thinking "barely goes over 100mph"!? But come on, what if it went 650mph? My balls would get sucked in to my butthole and then I would end up with shit balls, and nobody likes shit balls.

It's in amazing condition for being almost 40 years old. Couldn't believe I found something like this at the price I got it for. Stoked!

I really wanted to convert it into a cafe racer but I love how it looks stock so we'll see. In the mean time I need to get my license and helmet quick cause I can't stop taking this thing out. It's soooo much fun!

Also, Mike from Set Your Goals got a tattoo of a shirt design I did for them a while back.

Can't really tell whats going with your ankles but it looks like you have a potato implanted in it. Get that looked at would ya?!

I just got back from my trip to Philly and Lancaster and I'm sick as a dog. Sux!

First off, thanx to Air Tranny for delaying my flight over 10hrs. I thought I was gonna lose my mind sitting in the airport and people watching. All though when I was waiting in the customer service line waiting to complain I say a girl run up to the trash can and puke her brains out. That was a treat.

After I approached the customer service dude I put my ticket on the counter and said "what do you think I'm gonna complain about?". I usually never complain ever especially if it's about food cause lets face it, I'm scared they'll spit in my food and I'll eat anything. So before I can even finish my sentence the guy says you got a free round trip ticket anywhere in the US including San Juan, Puerto Rico and Cancun, Mexico. Holy shit! Sweeeeeeet!

I sat near a sick baby on the plane ride there. Great.
Once I finally arrived in Philly my buddy Colin from None More Black picked me up and took me to his sex lair. I mean his house.

First thing on Friday morning was the ultimate mission. Eating.

We ate at Sabrinas which has incredible food. If you live in Philly and haven't been there then you must be border line retarded. Soooo good.

Once Jason and his girl Laura got there we had to flail our arms in an attempt to play Wii.

I pretty much suck at all their games.

We headed off to the art show that Steak Mtn. and I had in Lancaster. No offense to Lancaster natives but I was surprised once I arrived. I didn't realize what an active and nice city they had. Well, at least this part of the city. Everyone and their mother was out walking around and enjoying themselves. I felt like I was in the movie The Truman Show. I walked in to Metropolis Art Gallery and was welcomed warmly.

Angelo and Lisa are the owners of Metropolis and they ruled it. They were so incredibly nice. It's always so nice to meet people like this.
I even had security working the joint.

One more step and you get the peoples elbow son!

Steaks work looked amazing and creepy as usual. I never know what to think when I look at his art and I like it that way.

I got to meet up with Volatile V (Andrew Zell) (check his work out now) from Emptees and he was repping some AXE and HB gear. Super pumped to see some internet faces in real life. They usually end up being way cooler in person.

He brought the Zardcore deck and I signed it for him. I hope he smashes over a cops head. Or just puts it on his wall.

Dude looks like he could be my brother. Yikes!!!

Grabbed some Italian grub in between hanging at the gallery.

When I came back I met a guy named Nick (goes by Gnarly Nick on Emptees) who came with his friends all the way from Syracuse!! That's like a 5 hour drive. I was so impressed by it I felt like I should of just given him something for driving so long. I had a great conversation about and art and everything he's been doing. I would def hang with him and his friends if he lived in my town. Sucks I didn't get a pic of us chatting though. Boo. None the less, check out his website. We practiced in the basement for a few hours but it just wasn't the same without having Paul there. I felt awkward not having that rhythm back bone. Listen to me, I sound like some idiot who works at a music store.

These guys were so serious that the puck kept flying all over the place cause Jay and Colin were annihilating the puck. They were shaking the table like gorillas. Eventually Colin blasted one at Jay and smacked his wrist so bad. Jay screamed and we all laughed. Come to find out today that actually broke his arm. I'm not kidding. HIS ARM WAS BROKEN PLAYING AIR HOCKEY. I will never play air hockey with these beasts ever.

After that we bowled and Jason never knew his arm was busted. He just said it felt sore. Wow. The dude was bowling an 8lb ball at 26mph!!! Like I said, they're all savage beasts.

Last day I finally got my fake philly cheesesteak that I've been obsessing over.
Once again Sabrinas brought the pain!!

On the flight back I was lucky enough to sit right next to a sick baby. The first 20 minutes of the flight this thing pukes up all this white shit on him and his mom. Love it. What's with people puking when it comes to airplanes? Wus. I wanted to flush him down the toilet so bad. He would look a smurf after he gets flushed.

So, I really wanted to do something dumb for April Fools but I couldn't think of anything worthy enough. You gotta go all the way when you prank a massive amount of people. Harvest of Hope Fest Part 1

I'm gonna have to show these in parts mainly because I didn't take too many pics and between all my friends there are a ton of pics.

Saturday I played my first show with None More Black. It was a blast.

I thought I would be more nervous than I was considering it was my first show with them but they are just so easy to be around that I didn't think about it much.

I'm sure if you read the previous posts about these guys you realize they are unique bunch of guys. Super energetic and laughing at all times possible, but when they play it's crushing time.

I'll have to admit. It was sort of awkward on such a big stage. I'm not really used to that kind of thing and it felt a little impersonal. I can't wait to play a small comfortable place with NMB.

Dust was flying everywhere and there were a bunch of stinky hippies walking around bare foot. I wanted to strangle them.

Paint It Black shredded the stage after us. They were really really good. I love those guys.

They all got bummed on me because last time I went to Philly. I didn't tell anyone of them I was there because I just went to practice and demo new songs. Sorry dudes, hope you forgive me.

I really wish I could of hung out with my friends a lot more but I was running around like a tard all 3 days. We had to set up 3 hours before and I saw so many people from a ton of different bands that I wanted to say hi to everyone. What can you do?

So my art show was last night and it went over great. A bunch of my friends came out to support (mainly their drinking habits).

The attendance was actually pretty good for a Tuesday mainly because Lucero was playing next door and Deerhunter was playing down the street.

I was allowed 15 free beers. Like a dream come true.

I couldn't even get through half though. My friends were hanging tight the whole night. Stoked they enjoyed themselves.

Wolf Tears (Kaz) played the best music ever! I seriously had the best time because it was all of my favorite songs playing in the background.

Pain by numbers

I've been lucky enough lately to go back to painting some more. I have to because of I have an art show tomorrow at BBQ Bar in Orlando and also another art show coming up in the beginning of April in Lancaster PA (more info on that soon).

Here is a piece I did a week ago that was really fun.

My good friend Bailey gave me a couple tiny ornate frames to paint. I love doing smaller painting where I can knock them out in a few hours. The painting only measures 3 1/2 inches. Super small.

Painting on cardboard has a unique texture that I like painting on, it absorbs the paint but not drastically. Good for quick jobs.

Bam! Finished

Next up I had to paint a prize for an instore meet and greet with Less Than Jake at Park Ave CD's in Orlando. My friend Shellie who manages the shop asked me to do it and I had to agree mainly because she rules and I've done so much stuff for LTJ lately that it just made perfect sense to.

I decided to take an old Donny Osmond record and show his true colors on it.

I swear there is some weird incestuous thing going on with him and his sister. UGH!!

This guy never seemed real to me so I decided to make him look like he transformed in to a Garbage Pail Kid.

I had to finish painting this hours before leaving to Harvest of Hope with the None More Black guys. They came and hung out in my room while I worked. I thought they were staying busy with magazines and iPhones until Colin decided to take a pic of me with an unsuspecting full moon behind me supplied by Jason.

I couldn't figure out why he took the picture and kind of snickered afterwards. I asked what was funny but he said he was clearing his throat.
Thanks guys.

Anyways, I finally finished it and rushed over to drop it off at the record store for a lucky winner.

I hope it was worth it dude.

American Greaser Supply

Yesterday I got an awesome package mail. I designed a shirt for a company called American Greaser Supply. It's an independent company that started in a kitchen and by word of mouth got bigger and bigger. I love stories like this. It proves you don't need a 9-5 job to do make something of yourself and live on your own terms. The owner "Betsy" started in her kitchen making her own formulas for hair products and grease in the mid 90's.

On a side note: I actually got the job through her husband Mackenzie. I know him because of his company National Underground.org which documents shows in the punk scene. They have awesome video footage on their site of your favorite current punk bands ruling it.

Anyways, back to the package. They sent me this box full of great stuff.

It had the shirt I designed, the whole collection of their hair grease, stickers and trinkets.

Let this be a lesson to all people who own a business. Establishing a good relationship with someone by showing your appreciation goes a long way. Especially when I'm on the receiving end.

They have 3 different types of product depending on what type of hair you want. 40 wt, 90 wt and Super 90 wt.

Personally I like this look.

This past weekend I visited Philly for my first practice with None More Black. I was really excited to bust out some jams but more importantly to hang out and have a good time with my good friends who make up this band. It was funny to leave sunny warm Florida and wake up to looking out the window and seeing this.

The guitar player Colin picked me up and I immediately started joking around and laughing with him. Seriously one of the funniest guys ever (it also doesn't help that the bass player (Paul) is equally as funny and both of them combined is insane). Once I got to his house I immediately fell comfortable. He had these black hell hounds that would bark ferociously until you actually walked up to them and then they turned out to be the sweetest dogs.

We waited for Paul and Jason (singer, songwriter) to get to Colins house for the weekend long practice sesh. What better way to eat up time than to actually EAT!

Colin and his rad wife Heather took me to this bad ass Thai restaurant where we ordered salad and I got shrimp pad thai. The staff was super friendly mainly because they knew Heather and Colin from them being frequent visitors.
The kicker was the desert. This shit was insane!!

They had some crazy pyramid desert that someone stuck their finger in the display model so that immediately turned me off but the rest looked great.
The presentation was nuts! I didn't want to even touch it...

...who am I kidding!? I headbutted it right when he put it in front of me.

Little did I know this was only a hint of what was to come.

Paul and Jason finally arrived later and the tears began rolling. Not from sadness but from the ridiculous jokes they were telling.

I passed out early from traveling and eating and apparently I was talking a shit ton in my sleep and waking Jason up but he couldn't remember what I said. I seriously need to record myself one night and figure out what the hell I'm thinking about when I sleep. I can't imagine it being anything besides sitting in the back of white pick up trucks and riding my mountain bike to the local Jack-In-the box.

The next morning we all went to this rad breakfast place and got crazy food. Of course I got the breakfast burrito. I needed it.

Heather got something that I thought didn't even exist. STUFFED FRENCH TOAST!!! I swear Philly has wizards working in the kitchen.

Happy boy.

On a satisfied belly we finally started practice.

It lasted for so long but it was awesome. We ran through a bunch of songs that I already learned and some that I didn't know so well.

We also played new that songs that are turning out great.

You can see in the background of these pics that Colin A.K.A. CPM made some of these amps from amp kits that he built and modified. They sound really good and he also made a huge guitar cab that singes my crustache right off my upper lip.

After practically 8 hours of practicing I was starving again and we went to an incredible restaurant that specialized in vegetarian food.
The appetizer was right up my alley.

I took a huge bite of that pepper and I thought I was gonna puke it was so hot.

Don't even ask me what I ate, I just know that it ruled!

Later we just chilled back at Colin's and laughed it up even more.

There is one thing I gotta tell you about these guys. They LOVE Howard Stern and Metallica and I don't just mean love as in how you love your girlfriend or boyfriend. They are absolutely obsessed with Howard Stern. Especially Colin. He has Howard TV, Howard Stern on Sirius radio and Howard streaming on his laptop at all times. I'll just let this video and pic of his tattoo that he has speak for itself.

I woke up pretty early the next morning only to find sleeping beauty catching z's on the couch. You gotta get a lot of rest if you wanna look this good. For real.

After everyone got dressed guess what? We had a feast again!! I was eating like a king! I ate for my whole family.

Heather really came through and cooked up this feast for us. I swear it was like Xmas over and over again but instead of presents it was food.

On to the next practice sesh. We practiced so much that I thought I was gonna fall apart but I had a blast every minute of it. We got way tighter the second day and I fell in to the pocket (music industry term for not playing like a douche bag) way better this day.

I'm sure you've already noticed how these guys are total Metallica fanatics by their shirts. I absolutely don't blame them at all. I mean how could you deny the talent of one the best metal bands in the world easily show in this clip of brutal shredding on bass and insane vocals!

So after our last practice of my visit we went to my people's place and hit up a mexican restaurant.

Perry, the singer of the Philly hardcore band Lighten Up and also super talented artist who does really neat work joined up for dinner with us.

(Don't ask me why he looks like the Jewish Buddy Holly)
His stuff reminds me of Mike Judge's Beavis and Butthead drawings. It's juvenile in a really classic way. I really like art like this, especially for design purposes like shirts and what not in the punk scene.

We took a picture with him and the first one made me realize that he might not have a soul and really is a shape shifter.

We tried to see if we could strip him and sell his clothes on the street to pay for the tip.

My trip was now over and it was back home for work and sunny weather.

I had such a good time with these guys and there is nothing but love for these guys. I can't wait to play my first show with them at Harvest of Hope Fest in early March.

Colin actually leaves to Hawaii tomorrow for a while and I couldn't be more jealous. I've always wanted to go there. I hope he doesn't scare the locals.

HEATHER GABEL DAY!

My good friend and amazing artist Heather Gabel (formerly known as Heather Hannoura) came over to get schooled in photoshop even though I don't even know that much about it except for the basics.

She brought over a super rad poster to work on and set up for print. She also finished her end of the deal for our next colaboration project for the Harvest of Hope Fest. Should be sweet! More details later on that though.

I ran over a bunch of stuff with her and she wrote notes like a good student would. She even brought me an apple! I'm not kidding, and it was the best apple ever. I told her she needed to look like a budding student and she suggested some spectacles but all I had laying around were these sweet Duane Wayne flip-up glasses and she went for it.

Doesn't it make her look smart? No? Ok.

After we were done with that jazz we were starving and so we ventured out to El Potro Mexican restaurant. She mentioned that this place in St. Augustine had the most amazing veggie fajitas and it turns out it was El Potro and I had one right down the street. I was so stoked to try these bad boys out. If you read any of my previous blogs I think you would know I'm a food fanatic. Just research old pics of me. Trust me.

Yup, she was right. They RUUUUUULED!!!

And what better way to wash it down with than a Negro Modelo?

We always have the best conversations when we hang out. We can't stop making fun of people and pointing out all the weird things that other people seem to over look. I'm always super comfortable making the dumbest jokes around her cause she actually gets it. I can't wait to visit her and her hubby in St. Augustine. Fountain of Youth here I come!

I also don't know why I look like such a chubby mutant lurker in this picture and why she is shorter than me. In real life she's actually taller than me! WTF!? RAZORCAKE

I'm so proud to say that I am recently featured in the latest issue of RAZORCAKE magazine that just hit stands!

I've always looked up to this magazine because they always kept it real and featured a ton of independent bands and people that don't get that much attention. I also got to make new friends too, Reyan who interviewed me turned out to be a super rad guy and we had such a lengthy interview that he had to cut down a ton of stuff. We even talked for a while afterwards just about a bunch of stuff that we had in common. He even went as far as sending me an envelope full of Garbage Pail Kids cards and other random awesome art inspiring cards that I use to flip out for when I was a kid. Super rad dude. I also got to meet Todd (the main man behind RAZORCAKE). He is really doing something special and I hope he can still do this for a long time.

I had a blast doing the cover too. I love incorporating photographic images with my illustrations. It always ends up having such a great balance between realism and surrealism.

This whole experience was awesome too, mainly because my extremely talented friend Ryan Russel took a photo of me exclusively for the mag. Even though I hate taking serious pics it was easy cause Ryan is super rad and doesn't make me feel like a douche-bag getting his picture taken in the streets of Chicago. Porch tour.

This was definitely one of my most fun tours that I've been on. Mainly because almost all the shows were awesome and it was with some of my closest friends. We had a blast. I'll keep all the jabbering minimal and let the pictures do most of the talking.

First off, I wanna say thanx to Bryon of New Bruises for letting us borrow his van and trailer. It saved our asses big time.
The trailer was extra small and we couldn't believe how much stuff we could fit in it. It ended up being super convenient because of it's size when driving.

I'm definitely gonna have to kick off this blog with the almighty party god Sam of Virgins. We spent the night in Gainesville after our first show and Sam partied so hard that he never went to bed. I was woken up by him numerous times saying the most obscure shit. It was funnier later but at the moment I wanted to attack him like a spider monkey.
He later tried to moon us in the front yard.

He didn't succeed mainly because this other friend of ours (identity being kept secret) tackled him in a fit of gay rage.

Let's just say I was blinded for 3 days and I will never look at a mushroom the same way ever again.

We played in Asheville, NC that night and it was freeeeezing! The house show ruled though! Here's eric pretending to be cool.

We got to sleep at our friends Toby and Rachels house. It was incredible!

The house was HUGE. there was a room for the studio, a guest bedroom, a drum room, and this was all just the downstairs portion of the house. There was practically another house sitting right on top. It was all part of a 6 acre lot.
After a super well rested night and showers. Rachel made us pancakes the next morning and they were to die for.

After that we soaked in the view one last time before leaving.

Now it was off to one of our favorite places ever, Richmond VA.
We have always felt at home in Richmond ever since our other band toured here almost a decade ago. We have a ton of friends there and have also seen some amazing people go too. I'll always have a love for RVA.
That show was amazing because our other band No Friends played also. So it was a trifecta of glory. We played a good show and then hung out there with our friends until the bar closed. We then took the party to Tony's (singer of Municipal Waste and No Friends) house. We drank the night away and I exchanged ghost stories with my friend Jen. It gave me goosebumps. Later in the night everyone passed out one by one and all that was left was Garth, Eric (both in Strike Anywhere), Sam and myself. We talked about how amazing turkey sandwiches are and how we wanted them but it was 31 degrees outside and too damn cold to walk. We then decided that who gives a shit and we need to get our 7-11 sandwich on. Everyones conversations were amazing including mine because we were so drunk and talked about the dumbest shit. I finally crashed at 5am with no blanket and a stolen pillow from Tony's bed so I curled up near the fireplace like a cat. The next day was awesome waking up to Eric puking outside.

I made Tony get in the picture. Classic.

Next we went off to Joe's Inn and I ate a righteous eggplant parm sandwich. For real.

Sitting next to my buddy Josh is always a treat because he does one of the best Bill Cosby impressions ever!

Everyone else went to town on their food.

Including Sam, which apparently turned in to Marty Feldman from Young Frankenstein.

On the outside of the building they had a huge memorial to our old friend Johnny Z.

After lunch No Friends had to take some photos together for a magazine. I usually hate photo shoots but this was really fun and it was over in a second.

The rest of the trip ruled consisting of South of Border shenanigans and Taco Bell goodness. What a combo!

Seriously the best glasses ever.

I couldn't of asked for any better people to go on the trip with. I felt like I was hanging out on a porch with most of my best friends and we kept ending up in a different city. It definitely restored my faith in touring and the music scene. Now, back to reality. Uuuuugggghhhhh.

I leave for tour today which will be a well needed vacation. My band Gatorface is touring with Virgins so it's gonna be great hanging with my friends on the road. We're also playing a show with my other new band called No Friends in Richmond, VA. Pumped about that because we just recorded a full length in Gainesville at Crescendo Sound Studios and it came out rad! Here are pics of us in the studio.
Time moves a little slowly in the studio sometimes.

This is Tony, he is also the singer for this rad thrash band Municipal Waste. They shred it. This photo was totally not candid. I told Tony to act angry and this is what he gave me. It looks like he just ran over a cat with his car and shit his pants at the same time. He's got them Popeye forearms though.

Tony busted out the Neti Pot and we all went to town. When Derron (studio engineer) tried I had to take a pic mainly because his face looks like someone just farted in his mouth and Tony looks like a little girl watching her mom try on dresses. WTF!?

Here's the drum room. It's really awesome to check out all the equipment at the studio too Derron has so much old stuff! Everything is in superb condition too. I love vintage machinery and old musical equipment.

Every studio has to have a guard dog just incase metal heads get in there and set the studio a blaze with their scorching vox brah!

I'm sure Derron is eating a sandwich, because that's what he does. ALL THE TIME!

One of the best parts of recording in Gainesville is we get to eat a mexican resteraunt called "El Indio". It fucking rulezzzz!!
I had 3 tempeh burritos in the 3 days I was there. So amazing!

I don't know whats in tempeh but it is god like.

Alex on the other hand would rather have a burger and fries. Typical.

We also ate breakfast and I had some of the best hot sauce ever! More flavor than spice but it was soooooo good!

Alright I just decided to blog about random stuff cause I was looking through my phone pics and found some sweet stuff but nothing related to each other.
First up is the breakfast I had at Christo's this morning. Christo's is an independent breakfast place in College Park, FL that rules as long as it's not super packed. Then you get awkward seating. I hate sitting super close to strangers when I eat.
Hot sauce makes everything amazing.

Next up is my buddy Ryan Murphy from No Idea Records in Gainesville. His band We Moderns played in Orlando the other week and it was awesome. Ryan is also responsible for the Harvest Of Hope Fest that is happening in March. Should be ruuuuling!!

Monikers from Orlando also played. They are amazing people and love to hang out and just have fun. Fucking love these dudes.

I don't remember why I took this pic but it rules. It's Derek Deal from the AXE slaying a giant. Brutal.

This is my buddy Josh's car port. Nuts!!! He has so many scooters and fixes up a ton of them too. Great dude.

And lastly my long time friend Rob cooked up some awesome brunch the other day for all of us. It was so good and so rad to just hang on a porch and bullshit with some of my closest friends. Getting older rules.

First of I wanna say thanx to everyone who got their hands on the Zardcore deck pack. They're all sold out and I didn't think I could actually do that in a few months time. Woo hoo!!! I'm also stoked that The Black Axe finally launched and now I'm taking on jobs through that and it's so much more organized and a breath of fresh air.

On to the real magic that the Zardcore deck harnesses. My buddy Adam from New Zealand ordered a Zardcore deck and slapped some trucks and wheels on it only to find out the awesomeness of it. Yup, he broke his arm.

Now he's a bonafide Kiwi bad ass! Thanx for the pic Adam, you rule for busting up your arm and still stoked enough to send me a pic of it before lighting your board on fire.

I hope you learned your lesson to never underestimate a wizard in any shape or form. Even if it's just an old homeless guy with a beard and a stick. I've seen Willow and all Lord of the Rings, the elderly can be deceiving.

Yes, the secret is finally out! I now present you The Black Axe, I had so much trouble holding that in. I grinded my teeth down to my gums. Thanx for that, anyways The Black Axe has officially launched and is ready to slay. I've been waiting and preparing for this day for quite a while. To explain the AXE is pretty simple. It's myself, Skull With Hair, Derek Deal, Joey and Kevin from Team Doom. We decided to join forces and come up with a company where we could take on more design and web work and to stretch our limits on running a bigger company while having fun and still being our own bosses at the same time. As you can see on our new site we have a portfolio, a store and a blog filled with a bunch of new unreleased content. I hope everyone likes it and has fun looking around the new site. The site will continue to grow in the following days and weeks. We have a lot of new jobs that are top secret right now and are patiently waiting to exhibit it all. I will still be doing HORSEBITES as a seperate company but now it will focus more on the "fine art" side of things which I'm very excited about. Expect more one-offs and paintings for sale. FINALLY! Also a lot more prints and like I said more rare art items.

The other day I was walking through the house and I noticed a trail of blood and the first thing that came to my mind is that my mom's dog "Gigi" got it's period and it was dripping. Ew! Then I found the dog and after close examination I realized that it wasn't coming from there. The next thing that popped in my head was my mom or dad had accidently cut themself and went to the hospital. This worried me a little because they are both diabetic. I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't call me or my sister though. I looked at the chair and blood was still dripping from it. I started to get more worried and happened to glance at their cat (Manolo). The side of it's face was super swollen and it couldn't open it's eye. I laughed and said you look like the Toxic Avenger! After I got done making fun of it I realized there was a trail of blood leading to the cat. I assumed it ate my parents but that wasn't the case at all. It had an abscess in it's face from getting in a fight with another cat/dog/wolf/pterodactyl. This means that it was infected and filling with blood and pus. I brought it to the vet and they cut the abscess open and stuck a damn tube in it's head. A FUCKING TUBE MAN!!!
Look at this Frankestein creature and don't feel sympathy. He get's in fights all the time!

You can't see the tube coming out the bottom of its jaw but it's gnarly. He looks like a Snork now.

I can't lie, I did feel bad but the cat was asking for it, and now we're paying for it. It's averaging out to around a thousand dollars for the vet bills after all that's said and done. I'm sure this doesn't surprise anyone that has a dog or cat.

This is gonna be cool.

First off, sorry for the lack of blogs. It's been super hectic lately and to be quite honest, nothing crazy has happened lately. I promise good and crazy news is coming soon. I'll give you a hint: "AXE" me about it later. Ooooooooooohhhh.

Anyways, the other night it was freezing cold, it was 48 degrees. Ok, well that's cold for me. My buddy Ben AKA "Captain Party" (fellow Taco Bus enthusiast) wanted to ride mopeds with me around midnight. Why you ask? We're dumb. So I'm suiting up and getting my jacket, gloves, bandana (keeps the snot from going everywhere, see "Dumb and Dumber", you'll understand) and my beanie on. I looked like a poor ninja ready to rob a bank. As I get ready to leave I look outside the back and the whole backyard is glowing orange. The immediate thoughts that ran through my head were could it be the moon? I knew the moon that night was the brightest of the year but why would it be orange!? Then I thought to myself, maybe my gay neighbors were having a rave? When they have parties they usually blast Mariah Carey (yes, they rule) but they don't usually have a laser light show going on. So I walked out to the backyard to feast my eyes on the raging beast!

I yelled "HOLY SHIT!!!!". I've never seen a fire this big up close. It was my neighbors greenhouse that was up in flames and it's only about 2 feet from my fence. I freaked out because what if that shit jumped over the fence and then I caught on fire and ended up looking like Fire Marshall Bill.

Luckily I was with Ben for a couple reasons. First off he just graduated Fire Academy to become a fire fighter and also because when I grabbed my iPhone I had cotton gloves on and my fingers wouldn't register on the screen and I looked like a dog digging a bone in the yard on my phone. For some reason I thought the harder I swish my fingers around the touch screen on my phone it would realize that it was an emergency and this shit was urgent. I became a mildly retarded baby. Ben grabbed his phone to call 911 and I ran over to my neighbors house to wake them up. Keep in mind I look like some crazy mexican terrorist. I might as well of been yielding a machete or some crazy stick. I'm knocking all hard on their door and yelling "wake up fuckers!". I then came to the realization that they are gonna shoot me or shit their pj's if they see me like this. I took off my beanie and scarf and realized that didn't look much better but whatever. So finally they wake up and I can see through their front window into the back and I'm just watching the greenhouse go up in flames. The dude opens the door and says "Oh my god, it's a fire!". In my head, the only things that keeps ringing is Really. Really!??! So then he says "thankyou" and my response was "No problem, NOW TAKE CARE OF THAT SHIT!". They start spraying the hose all over it and using the fire extinguisher and actually get the fire out before the Fire Dept. got there. Not too shabby fellas.
So, that was my night and it was pretty exciting.

I had an amazing day yesterday. My friend Ben AKA Captain Party drove to Sarasota to check out an 82 Vespa 100 sport he's had his eye on. I was pumped to check it out too so I rode out there with him. Ok, I have a confession. I really rode out there because I knew we would be passing the Taco Bus in Tampa on the way there. SO GOOOD!!!!
We finally arrived and saw the bike.

It looked beautiful and of course it didn't start. The guy tried starting a bunch but to no avail it didn't start. I was bummed for my friend and then after 10 min of trying to start it and replacing the spark plug the guy realized the killswitch was on. DOI!!!!! He flipped the kill switch and it started right up on the first kick. It rode great and Ben bought it.

Now for the real awesome part of the day. TACO BUS!!!! I can't get enough of this place! Our friends from Vertical Merch and Kiss Of Death Records joined us for some good eats at the bus. It was super nice hanging with them.
Bryon (owner of Kiss of Death and singer for New Bruises) rules. I saw him at Fest and he had a different hair style for every day. The first day he had a beard with long hair. The second day he had a gnarly southern looking mustache/mutton chop thing going on with a trucker hat on. Then the third day he was super clean shaven and had a short and sharp looking haircut. Well done!

Now eat that cake!

My buddies Eric the Red and Murray joined in too. Eric plays bass in New Bruises and also works at Vertical Merch. He usually handles most of my shirt and poster orders now. I've known him for a real long time and he's always been a rad dude.

Eric the Red is the guy with, well "red" hair who resembles a retarded turkey and Murray is the special looking man next to him. The colors on the umbrella in the back represent their personalities perfectly. They picked the table.

The Taco Bus is no joke, the best Mexican food I've had in Florida. The people working there also rule. The lady working the register sang to me. Not the best singing voice but it worked.

Ben also likes his Taco Bus. We don't mess around.

We rode back and also checked out a moped for our friend Quilty that he found on Craigslist.com. He said he had the money for it so we stopped to check it out on the way home and thought it ruled so we bought that too! I swear we're not made out of money, we just act like it. Now Quilty has a rad PUCH moped so we are officially a slow moving bad ass gang.

Today most of us decided to take a ride out to lunch and cruise the town. It couldn't of been better weather for it.

Unfortunately Q-bert (Quilty) couldn't ride with us today but we still took the streets over.

On a side note, I gave my moms new dog (Gigi) a six pack. It looked like it was getting a puppy belly so I "fixed the glitch".

Each print will be hand screen printed and in limited edition of 40 prints. All proceeds go to benefit the VCU Massey Cancer Center in honor of Nathan Joyce. The show will hang through december at EMPIRE located at 727 W Broad St , Richmond VA.

The official opening will be at 10PM on Sat Dec 13th and will include music by Matt Seymore/Pedals For Our Pirateships and ANN BERETTA who will again be playing a full set from their debut album Bitter Tongues in addition to a full set of songs from the remainder of their catalog.

Prints can only be purchased on location at EMPIRE through December. Get to the opening early as space is limited.

I admit it, I love to tease animals and watch them get annoyed by me but god damn! This lady took it to another level!! I was looking at Geekologie.com and saw that they posted this so I had to share it with you guys too!
This crazy old bag dyed her poodles hair and shaved it to resemble some of the worlds best creations. For instance, Leonardo "a hero of the american sewer systems". Yes, Ninja Turtles are real. Just ask Robert Van Winkle.

This one takes the cake though. I mean look at the expression on this dogs face! He is so gonna poop in her mouth when she's sleeping then light himself on fire. Can you imagine seeing dragon dog walking down the street!?!? I would hit it with my car with intentions of saving the human race.

What's next!? If only she could make it look like the dogs from Willow then I would be truely impressed.

Finally that holiday is over and now I'm back to the drawing table. I feel like such a fat turd. I ate so much food and drank way too much. I also practiced a ton with my two bands No Friends and Gatorface. That was super fun and Gatorface played an awesome show last night with a bunch of our friends bands. It ruled. I have an insane work week to conquer and hopefully it will get me back on track. I've been working on some pretty cool stuff lately so I will unveil those as soon as I'm allowed to. I wanna do that master cleansing diet where you drink water mixed with weird crap for 10 days and cleanse your body of all it's toxins and um, everything else. I'll be scared to leave the house though, I could be a walking slip and slide. Ew.

I just bought my mom this puppy the other day. It's a Papillon (french for Butterfly) and it's ears are freakishly large hence the butterfly name. It's actually really well behaved for a puppy. My mom thought it was a cat when she first saw it and the first night she spent with she kept telling me it sounded like a bird because of it's barking. Now image if "El Skeleto" from Nacho Libre was a woman. That's what her voice sounds like.
My mom named her Gi Gi after a french actress she liked when she was a kid.

It can fit in a shoe.

Not really, but I did go to Discovery Middle School in Orlando to do a teach-in for my friends classes. I have two friends that teach there (Natalie McCarver and Mike Roberts) and they asked me to come in and talk to their 6th and 7th graders about my art career. At first I was a little hesitant because I'm a horrible public speaker and quite frankly middle schoolers scare me. I later realized that I was scared of middle schoolers when I was a middle schooler. It can be an awkward transition between elementary and high school. That's when you realize farting is embarassing and the way you wear your back pack actually matters.
They brought in the 7th grade class and combined it with the 6th grade class. This is when my pit stains really started to kick in.

The kids actually turned out to be amazing! They were super attentive and asked really good questions. Even though some of the questions were "What kind of car do you drive?" and "Can I tell you my five favorite Fall Out Boy songs?".

I would of been SUPER pumped if I was their age and some bad ass dude came in their with skate decks and paintings of guts talking about how he makes his money this way and plays in punk bands. I'm just saying.

Some of the girls thought I was a little weird though. Story of my life. Except now it's evolved from weird to sweaty, can't commit, forgets everything they say, rides mopeds and eats too much.

I would have to say that the most rewarding part about this experience was the letters that they wrote me. I didn't realize that this meant way more to them than I thought. Those letters seriously got me choked up and the illustrations that some of them did were so awesome. It really brought me back to when things were so much more simple and people weren't constantly trying to scare you with "real world" problems.
My desk was littered with thank you notes.

I even had to sign a few autographs before I left. One kid had me sign two, one for himself and one to sell on eBay! Future businessman right there.

But! When my eyes were introduced to this masterpiece I almost lit myself on fire and started beating my head on the bed post.

That made my month! I'm seriously considering getting this tattooed on me. LOVE IT!!!

I do have to say this though. I broke a world record of mine. It was unbelievable achievement that I am very proud of. I got nervous and sweaty at times that my pit stains actually went through my shirt and through my jacket! But this wasn't a first for me, the real winner was when I got back to my car and noticed that my pit stains went behind my arm pit and to my shoulder!!! THROUGH THE DAMN JACKET!!!!

Eating out Five Guys...

...Um, I mean "eating at Five Guys". It's some burger joint that Joey (Team Doom), Skull With Hair and I ate at today. I don't eat red meat but they did have a veggie sandwich which was a burger with no meat. It was still really good. I had something similar at IN-N-OUT Burger in L.A. and it ruled. I did boot camp and Yoga back to back at my gym yesterday and everything I worked hard for was wiped out with this lunch. Anyways, nothing cool happened I just want to show you these pics because I'm a fat kid at heart and love food.

SWH HATES messy food but he powered through cause the burger was that good. He also kept eating his hair because it was super windy outside.

Joey solved the messy problem by shoving the whole burger in his gullet. I thought he was gonna eat his fingers thinking they were french fries.

Yesterday I went to Tampa to go say hi to my friends at Vertical Merch and also to see what they had at Squaresville. It's a retro furniture shop that has awesome retro and vintage furniture from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I love it! It's actually really cheap too. I was starving afterwards and we decided to eat at the Taco Bus. It was at the corner of Nebraska and Hillsborough. I never ate there and all I ever hear is people preaching about how awesome their mexican food is. I had to see for myself. HOLY CRAPOLA, it was some of the best mexican food I've ever had!!
I got a tofu burrito with beans and rice and had a total fat kid food boner the whole time. It was amazing. They had these two different sauces and I almost chugged the whole thing while showering in it at the same time. So good I had to take a pic.

My friend and I are considering doing a food tour around Florida one day. It consists of spending a whole day of driving to DeLeon Springs to get some pancakes for breakfast (supposedly you make your own pancakes at the table), then off to Tampa for a orgasmic ride on the Taco Bus for lunch then off to Gainesville to GatorDawgs to get some righteous veggie dogs for dinner. Can't wait!

My buddy Ben aka Captain Party just got ourselves some sweet mopeds the other day. I got the seed planted in my head to own one of these when I just visited Chicago because a ton of people had them and they looked so fun to ride. We've ridden almost everyday since we got them and I still haven't put gas in mine. I have to pedal it like a bike to start it up. Shit is sweeeeet!!

Mine is a 1982 Jawa (Czech moped company) Supreme 3. I was so pumped when I saw the ad for mine and I told my buddy I had to get that one. It looked like some sort of a cafe racer style motorcycle. Luckily the dude was selling both of his and my friend scored a 1984 Yamaha QT50. Get it? QT = cutie.

That took some of the bite out of it but we got over it. They both get 80 miles to the gallon. Pretty awesome. A bunch of my friends rode and are super stoked on it.

A couple weeks ago I went bowling with my close designer friends Joey and Kevin of Team Doom, Derek Deal and Skull With Hair. I absolutely LOVE bowling. I'm just horrible at it. It was also a spur of the moment thing too which is always more fun than planning something out.
SWH was kicking our asses. It's the power of his mane, and joey almost puked because of the strength it was exuberating.

Joey tried to harness the power with his sweet leg kicks but it wasn't working.

Derek had to get his own table for all the beers he ordered. That guy is fucking lush.
JK, he just filled up empty bottles with water to show off in front of us. "But I have to drive soon" pssssssh, amateur hour.

Now there's a real beer chugger. If you have a beard like that then you have to be a bad-ass beer drinker. Weird beard bear hair.

Bowling shreds it. Now I wish I was "The Dude" from The Big Lebowski. Somebody get me a white russian.

FEST 7! Best Fest ever!!!!!

Alright so this might be my longest post ever. There were so many pics that I HAD to put up. I'll let most of them do the talking. First off I wanna say that this Fest 7 was probably my funnest one yet. I got to dress up as the amazing Rollie Fingers and a ton of my friends bands played.
It ruled!!
Once we pulled in to Gainesville I had to run to my hotel room to get my costume ready so I could catch VIRGINS play at Common Grounds. They were the first band to play the Fest and the kicked off in such a proper way. SO GOOD!!!
While I was changing into my costume I got a knock at the door and it was good friend Mikey from Static Radio, he also just started his design company called Duchamp Designs. If you haven't seen it please go check it out! Anyways, he showed me his costume and low and behold he went as me!!!

HA! He nailed the costume. It has guts, hands, stripes, etc. Everything you need for a HB design! Oh yeah, and you can't forget the stache.
After VIRGINS played I got to hang with all my friends including a ton of friends from San Francisco. Kristen and Veronica dressed up as Wayne and Garth from Waynes World. By far the best costumes. Zang!

Other people had insane costumes too! Monster Squad!!

huh!? I felt like Tony Danza.

That night I stage dove about a million times for Strike Anywhere. It ruled.

My friend Jess (Jeff) dressed up as Susan's tattoo. She did a damn stellar job too! You might not be able to see the tattoo on the back of Susans leg because she is standing like some crippled worm snake.

That night Paint It Black played in a U-Haul trailer in the parking lot and the electricity lasted for maybe 11 seconds. It was still one of the most memorable moments at any Fest. The cops showed up shortly after on horses and were surprisingly cool about everything. I was still running at top speed because first off I had a baseball uniform on and that gives you super speed and I'm a shade darker than most there and for some reason horse cops don't like that kind unless I'm maintaining their yard.

The next day I ate an amazing breakfast and walked over to the art show at Store 101.

Wrecking Crew.

The show was great! It had prints and originals from Dobi, Derek Deal, Skull With Hair, CSDIV, Laurie Shipley, Rob Huddleston, Ben Lande, myself and a bunch others!

Fuck yeah!

This piece titled "Electric Children" made my friend Jeremy dance just like in Weekend at Bernies 2.

Paint It Black played later that day and I stage dove way too much again and got really tired.

It was worth it.
Then my band New Mexican Disaster Squad had our last show and it was a good bittersweet ending.

All of our friends went nuts and it ruled!!

I even stage dove during our own set! How shredtacular is that!??
After the show hanging with Josh from Paint It Black. I love him. I feel like he is my long lost brother, except Jewish.

My friend Veronica I guess got in to some scuffle at the Fest and some banshee attacked her and ripped some of her hair out. Girls, you gotta love em. Anyways, my friend Ben decided to rock the wise asian man look for a bit with some freshley yanked hair. Captain Party never disappoints.

That night Jeremy did the unthinkable and surfed a chair across the hotel room. If you don't notice HE HAS A FUCKING PIECE OF PIZZA IN HIS HAND!!!! A FUCKING SLICE OF ZZZZAAA!!!!!!!!!!! He should of been elected president!

Ben sleeping on top of the TV. I feel like the Fest is a weekend camp for adults. So weird.

On Sunday my other band GATORFACE played and we cleaned house! Thanx to Susan, Steph and Sara for helping out!

This is a tattoo that Kalen from Iowa got. It's a Fest 6/7 combo. Woo!!

Overall the Fest was incredible and people got wrecked. For instance Shannon from SF got kicked in the face and then she had to hop a plane where I'm sure people thought she was beaten by her boyfriend. She looks tough as shit though.

I got so wrecked Sunday night that Derek Deal and the None More Black dudes had to carry me to Dereks car where I got escorted back to the hotel. I puked all over myself and totally hated life the next day. I think I'm straight edge now.

Thanx so much to Tony Weinbender for doing the Fest and to everyone who came up to talk shop with me or even just talk about whatever. I had such a blast and these are the memories that I'm taking to my grave. Which hopefully won't be for at least another few years.

This Halloween is gonna rule. I got my costume situated and I'm gonna be at Fest which is gonna be nuts. The weather has also been nuts lately in Orlando, nice and cool at night perfect for riding bikes. I contemplated going as the Biking Viking and so did my friend but I realized that my costume must revolve around my mustache. I also don't want to ride a bike around Fest cause I'll be a little tipsy and I'll end up in a ditch. I actually just heard that someone else is going as the Viking so I can't wait to see pics of that! RULING!

I designed a halloween themed shirt and extras for the Electric Zombie clothing line. If you don't already know of Kyle and his gruesome company go and check it out. He gave myself and a few other designers a chance to illustrate our own posters revolving around our "persona". I chose the horse of course.

I love old movie horror posters and I like how they used to make them sideways instead of the standard vertical. Kyle actually helped me dirty up the poster with his photoshop wizardry. The poster is part of a poster pack consisting of 6 super talented artists. So if you are a horror movie fan or just a fan of amazing illustrations than pick it up!
I also designed this shirt called "Splatter House". I'm super proud of this one. The print and colors turned out great!

Kyle also made a sweet matching belt for the shirt.

Farewell windy city

I just got back from Chicago and it totally ruled! My art show went really well thanx to the overly kind people at Threadless. It turns out when I was buying my plane tix that either the Cubs or the Sox had a really good chance at going to the World Series so a ton of hotel rooms were booked and I ended up getting a hotel almost 20miles from downtown! SUCKED SO BAD! Anyways, my friends figured out the whole bus and train transit very easily so that made it a lot more convenient. I have to admit that as an ex-fat kid I was so amazingly stoked about the food in Chicago, that city manages to churn out some of the best grub ever. Our first mission getting off of the plane was getting some classic chicago deep dish pizza so we ended up at Gino's and stuffed our bellies with amazing zza!

The next night I went to the Threadless Gallery for the grand opening of my first solo art show.

I could feel my arm pits getting ready to release the flood gates. But once I walked in the people working there were so awesome and nice that I totally forgot it was an art show. Although I did have to do a short video interview and I'm sure I sounded like a spanish Kermit the Frog. I HATE MY VOICE ON VIDEO!!! Who doesn't?
Anyways, Threadless seriously hooked it up. I was bumming cause some of my frames got broken on the way there but when I saw it on the wall it looked totally fine and normal. That gallery was super nice and the food was amazing! A few Less Than Jake dudes came and hung out which was rad and there was a healthy amount of people who viewed the art. I met a ton of new people.

As I walking through the city the next day I found this totally sweet pigeon wearing this stylish and highly effective bread necklace. Whichever pigeon in this park designed it is a total bad ass.

Also these cakes were amazing. Yes, they are cakes.

Ahh, I can't get enough of their skyline. sigh.

Next I went to Millenium Park and took a nap in the park. Best weather ever. Then I was rudely awakened by a bug crawling in my nose.

The next big chapter of the trip was to go to the Riot Fest and being able to see The Ergs!, Static Radio NJ, Paint it Black, DOA and the almighty ALL. I was introduced to Descendents/ALL when I first got into punk so I was insanely happy to see ALL with one their best singers (Scott Reynolds). The show was insanely long though and I had to kill some time in between bands by wandering around aimlessly.
First band that ruled it was Static Radio NJ. Great friends and amazing band.

DOA totally shredded just when I thought they ran out of steam

I killed some time between DOA and Paint It Black and went for a walk to the store. I ran into this couple Shawn and Malory from Wyoming that I noticed at the art show because he was wearing the Zardcore hat but I never got a chance to say hi. When I spotted him on my walk he was repping the hat and the Biking Viking shirt and Malory was wearing a new Big Trouble In Little China shirt for Fright Rags that I recently designed! So rad! It's meeting people like this that make my hard work all worth it.

When I got back I finally got to see ALL which absolutely melted my brain. I sang almost every song and stood in front (which I rarely do). I GOT ALLULAR! Sorry for the crappy pic, it was with my phone and I was flailing around like when the kid in the movie The Witches got turned into a mouse.

The cops broke up the show at the end and the band still kept on playing even though the sound was shut off. The crowd kept the songs going and it was just as good. AMAZING!

Here is the last image that I took before I left to the station. I tried to take a pic of it before I bit into it but like I said earlier my ex-fat kid kicked in and I slammed my face on to the plate at an insane speed. It's a veggie burger from this burger joint named Kuma's. They name all their burgers after classic metal bands such as Slayer, Iron Maiden, Goblin Cock, Metallica and other shredders. The burgers are ginourmos and have the best toppings on them. Mine had huge chunks of blue cheese and frizzled onions. I gained three pounds for every bite. They also just play metal music while you eat. It's amazing. Before I stepped in I imagined a bunch of skeezy metal heads inside a dirty kitchen serving you gruel. It totally wasn't like that, the place was so nice and clean with a touch of class even. Crazy!

Chicago. You rule, I drool.

Recently I met an artist on the interwebz who does original plush toys. Her name is Shannon Hahn which sounds like a sweet name and her business is called PLUSHYBUTT. She creates all these weird but cool custom plush creatures. She's actually making me an awesome slice of pizza right now! I hope I don't eat it when I get it in the mail. I like food. Hell you can order whatever the hell you want! She's made everything from cute bats to bloody tampons. I wonder if she can make me an exact replica of Rachael Leigh Cook? Hmm, I guess I'll find out.
Anyways, support artists like these because they aren't doing this to become rich and famous. It's their passion. This way you can keep things fresh in the art world and artists can support their love of creating new and interesting things instead of mass produced crap you can buy at any Target or Walmart.

Best month ever!!

So happy October is finally here. This means better weather, my first solo art show, I get to see ALL and the best day ever!!! HALLOWEEN!!!!! I can't wait, and it's gonna extra special this year because I get to spend at the Fest in Gainesville this year! So many people are gonna be dressed up. These past few halloweens have been pretty good but I feel this will be the ultimate. The only problem is I can't figure out what I want to be for halloween. I have a pretty wicked mustache and I'm itching to shave it, but I have to keep it so I base my costume off of it.
These are some ideas I have:
Dali would be cool but I don't think enough people will know who I am.

Bill the Butcher would be totally bad ass but I don't know if I could pull it off. I would probably just look like some bystander in the Mexican-American War.

I could be this freak but I think I would knock over everyones beer at the bar.

I'm leaning towards the legendary Rollie Fingers. This guy had style. All I would need is a baseball uniform. Hmmmm

Oh the decisions in my life can be so rough at times.

Well, I found out it got to the gallery today and all the glass was broken and most of the frames were fucked. I love how the box said "artwork, glass and mirror handle with care". Seriously, what were they doing with it? Did they put wheels on the package and skate board it over to it's desitination? I HATE FED EX!!!!

So the other night I got to hang out with a bunch of my friends Derek Deal, Jimmy Heartcore, Cole Blotcky, Caleb and a bunch of other long time orlando friends. It was an awesome break from all the work. We all met up in Ybor City to party. It ruled. Nothing too insane happened that night like me getting knocked out or catching glimpses of Batman but it's always the Taco Bell experience at the end of the night that is the icing on the cake.

I know the pics aren't insane but I can't hold a camera while eating my burrito and a lot of shit got broken when Caleb decided to dance in the parking lot. Always a good time.

As I posted earlier I have this art show coming up in Chicago and I've been busting my hump trying to get everything ready to ship for tomorrow morning. It's roughly 15 pieces of art. I was super stressed on how I was gonna get a box big enough to fit everything but Uhaul came through. I can't wait to see how much shipping is gonna cost for these two huge 50" boxes. YOWZA!
On another note, in between painting and packing I found time to paint my Ronald Reagan bust that I did when I was in college. I never liked it until I just painted it. It looks so sweet now!! Check it out! He's got fangs!

I just heard that someone who bought the Biking Viking shirt and wore it to school got detention!! How rad is that!?!? The principal stated that the shirt was "inappropriate on 3 counts : kegs, panties, and 'promoting mayhem'" so he laughed at the principal. Then he got after-school detention and had to scrape gum off cafeteria tables. Picture day is in a couple days and he wants to wear it again!
If he does, I have to get that picture! You should see my high school, picture. I was pretty much the lamest dude on earth and I look like a 12 yr old mexican James Bond. Keep in mind I was 17 in this picture. NO JOKE!!!! Drawing kept me alive in school, it was the only that kept me from getting beat up or flushed down the toilet. Ah screw it! Here's my picture. Aye caramba. I can't believe I'm showing this.

Now, I'm not saying that you should wear a shirt with a vagina shooting rockets out on a city but come on, the Biking Viking is "promoting mayhem". HA! I wish!!

Yup, I'll be showing my art work at the Threadless Gallery in Chicago from Oct 3 - Nov 5th. The grand opening for the show will be on Fri Oct 10th and I will be attending and moshing it up in the gallery. I'm so pumped on this mainly because it's my first SOLO art show!!! WOO HOOO!!!!!! So if anyone is in the windy city at this time they should come and check it out and hang out with me. Even if you don't live there just fly, drive, crab walk, skip or hitch hike there. I'll probably be sweating because that's what I do when I meet new people. Eeesh.

Bachelor party!

My buddy Mike had a bachelor party a few weekends ago and it ruled! It was a good break from busting my hump all week long. We rented a van and drove to Ybor city and St. Pete to party it up for Mikes last night on the town before the ball chain were applied to his leg. There's nothing more awesome when you rent a cargo van and fill it up with your best friends. I'm surprised Pennywise didn't come on the radio and a circle pit busted out!

You gotta love the march downtown. Party train. More like farty train. Remember there were no girls in our presence.

I passed this sign on the way to the bar and then realized is this my future career?

Go ahead, ask him. After you do that, no matter what he says just answer back with "WRONG!!!" then light him on fire. PLEASE!!!

I'm starting to have a growing obsession with elaborate beer signs. Or any signs for that matter. I love how they go above and beyond to show off their product. Amazes me.

The bachelor had to take a pic with at least one girl! She was kind enough to let this ginger ruin her beauty for the time being. Gotta love Ybor!

I had to take a pic of pukers. He was completely passed out sitting up with vomit splashed everywhere. Everyone was walking by this guy like he wasn't even there. I wanted to write my name in his puke. Or maybe even make a puke angel!

When we got back to my buddy's house the first person who passed out got fucked with. It's the rule.
He got a mattress pump in the mouth and it blew his mouth up, it was awesome! He totally looked like Louie Armstrong or that guy from Big Trouble in Little China who farts in his brain or something like that.

The next morning we got awesome greasy and greeky food!
SO GOOD!!!! Best remedy for nails through your eyes.

After that we went to the beach and it ruled!!! It was super windy and I stepped on some sea creature, that or a baby.

Can't forget SUPER JEW!

Over all it was an amazing time with some of my best friends and I wouldn't trade it for anything...

...Well, maybe a burrito. Sweet, back to work. UGH!

At least once a week I meet up with Joey and Kevin of TEAM DOOM for lunch and we chat about all that's awesome. I would say about 95% of the time we end up at Pei Wei, it's an offshoot of P.F. Changs and it totally rules. Mainly because it's cheaper and they have only one cup so if you order a water you can just fill it up with soda or whatever. Rules. Our conversations normally consist of why we get our food at different times and there is always one person who gets their food way later than everyone else (usually me). Racists. For some reason I can't find any food at Pei Wei better than their Pad Thai. It's amazing! Don't get me wrong, the other stuff is great but the pad thai beats ass.

As you can see they don't call these guys "team doom" for nothing. At least Kevin (right) has got the right idea. Joey (left, duh) looks like some lost character on the Bad News Bears.

We then tried to find more time to kill so we went next door to the mall and looked for a shirt for myself. I needed it for a wedding. Of course I didn't end up getting one because I'm so indecisive. Anyways, we had to stop and get coffee for these caffeine addicts. The lady working there thought we were some tourists from some ancient land that have never seen a Starbucks because I took a pic of him. My moustache probably gave her a suspicion. I then proceeded to jump across the counter and grab a bag coffee beans and smash them in her face. Justice is served, Venti. (dumb joke, I know)

Why Joey is posing as an action figure, I don't know. I heard if you pull the string on his back his mouth opens and says "WE'RE GONNA DIE!". Don't ask.

Overall, these dudes kick ass and I wish I knew them since I was way younger. Totally the type of kids I would of hung out with as a kid. They are super talented website and shirt designers. So if you need some digital wizardry, boom! teamdoom.com

Here is the progress and completion of the second turntable. One lucky bunghole is getting this beauty. It's for a contest that Less Than Jake put on for the release of their new record. I wanna make one of these for myself so badly!
Here is the product untouched by my brown paws.

Ok, now for the nitty gritty.
I spray paint the base coat a nice neon/avocado green.

Then I use masking tape to mark off where my blue stripes shall not touch or rape that beautiful green of it's gorgesnous. What?

Bam! The blue/teal goes on. I'm obsessed with this color for some reason.

I would paint my face this color but then I would probably look like this.

Ok, back to the art stuff. One of my favorite parts about spray paint is when you mask stuff off and then you get to peel the tape off to reveal the perfect edges. Love it! Also, in case you wondering, that stylish comforter is from IKEA and it was only 15 bones! Probably why it feels like I'm sleeping in a potato sack. I once farted in bed and the sheets disentegrated. No joke.

I start my sketching and inking on the surface. Meow.

Finally done and so happy! I absolutely love to run over the acrylic with paint pens to tighten up all the lines. It makes the final piece pop so much harder! Ask Uncle Luke, he knows!

Alright I was watching this video a couple weeks ago and was astounded how awesome this bird of Australia can mimic noises so perfectly that I was going to put it up on my blog and geek out. Recently, I found another video of someone doing a spoof on it, immediately I figured it was going to suck but it doesn't, it rules. Because let's face it, almost anything cool or funny on Youtube usually gets ruined by a ton of people trying to be hilarious, but every now and then you will encounter a gem.

So I finally wrapped up the 10" EP layout for my new band GATORFACE and I must say I am extremely proud of it! I wanted to go all out on this one and luckily Paper + Plastick is putting it out. Vinnie (owner of the label) always lets me have free reign when it comes to doing wacky art stuff. It's a different kind of pressure when you have to do something for your own band because not only is everyone expecting it to be bad ass but it's your own damn band you want to pick it up and stare at it with pride. The thing that I was most excited about was the fact that I got to do an etching on side B of the label! For those of you unfamiliar with this it's when someone literally etches the lacquer (master plate) with a metal scraping tool and then that makes an impression for the rest of the vinyl. The image is then transfered just like the original. It's so neat!

I drew up my sketch for the etching and I had to keep in mind that I couldn't etch past the 10" circular circumference and I also to leave room where the label was gonna go. Annoying.

I've never gotten to do this so when I got the lacquer plate in the mail I was surprised how well packaged it was. You're not supposed to get finger prints or dust on the disc because that will show up on the rest of the vinyl. It's really glossy and the box had words on it that read "fra-gile", hmmf must be italian. (Yes that is a bowl of cereal in the background, I live off that stuff)

I was gonna wear gloves but I decided to go with the home made 80's style wrist warmers.
Sort of like the ones that Miss Piggy wore on the cover of her work out aerobics album "I'm a fat pig frog fucker" or something like that.

I got to work and it surprisingly didn't take long at all. I was going to draw with marker on it but I don't have great patience so I went ahead and free handed the image on the plate. I'm shocked I didn't screw it up for once. It turned out awesome and I can't wait to see the final product!

I took those photos with a polaroid camera. No photoshopping there! Well actually, I photoshopped the pit stains out of my shirt. I had to. Really.
I'll post pics once the vinyl is done. They're making some purple and some gold vinyl records!!! Stoked!

When I was in elementary and middle school I always wished I could beat box. I'm so glad I didn't get good at it. I'll tell you why, because I hate when people ask you to perform your hidden talent or whatever in front of strangers in a quiet room. I HATE IT! When I watch this video I can't help but sweat and feel awkward. Sure the guy is good but come on, here are these three retards staring at him and he's doesn't even have a microphone to hide behind. So now he has to stand there awkward while persperating down his butt crack, and what's up with his Count Chocula laugh at the end? Enjoy!

Impressive, sure but let's see you do that while drinking a glass of water or better yet chocolate pudding.
